I was summonsed recently to help a relative take her mother out for afternoon tea at a very well known and massive garden centre chain. I had bought this tea for two voucher as a last resort birthday present for the ma in law’s 95th birthday – for heavens sake, what else can you give to someone who is completely deaf, losing her eyesight and totally reliant on her daughter ? These days we cannot give out ticket to see a film or go to the local amateur dramatics production – the mother is too frail but she is also not with it any more and it’s times like this that I am so glad we actually do have fantastic venues to wander around. This tea date was good from the food point of view but even better for a tourist and shopper. There were some truly amazing clothes in the outer wear store – it was pure magic!
