Recipe Of The Month

Serves 4 People

Traditional Dutch "Stampot Boerenkool"

Ingredients

1,5 kilo Potatoes

600g Curly Kale

Salt

1 Smoked Sausage

4g Butter

100ml Milk

1 Dessert Spoon of Mustard

Pepper

Peel and wash the potatoes, cut them into small equal pieces. Wash (if necessary) the kale and cut it fine. Put a layer of water in a large saucepan (about 3 cm). Add the sliced ??potatoes and two teaspoons salt. Place the cabbage on top. Bring water to a boil (with the lid on the pan) and cook in 25 to 30 minutes. Meanwhile, bring water to boil in a saucepan. Add a little salt and allow the sausage. After 20 minutes remove the sausage from the pan. Pour the cooking liquid and mash the potatoes with the cabbage finely. Stir in the butter and make the Mash with some milk or cream, mustard, and pepper.
